Clara Huang
| Full Name: Huang Biyi Clara Date Of Birth: August 1984 Day time Job: Student  Back ground: Have been a Health and Sports freak since the days of my active secondary school days. I began as a regular jogger because I had a desire to lose some weight (yes!! I was actually fat when I was younger!!). Since then, I started to look at my diet and have exercise to help me slim down. However, jogging almost everyday can be really boring and so I got pulled into recreational skating by my current boyfriend. I got really into recreational skating that I skated anywhere possible eg. To town, to east coast, even to school! I also hung around the Skateline Hub in East Coast during my seven- month holidays and it was there that I met Sandy. He was the one who told me about this speed team that he was going to set up and after hearing him out, I decided to try it. I thought I was fit but boy was I wrong!! It has been a test of my mental and physical strength and I love pushing myself to the max. Training Schedule: Why I do this sport: I started out jogging and I found that I like endurance sport. It gives me a sense of satisfaction when I finish a certain long distance. Doing speed skating has given me a great sense of balance, a good way to challenge myself and the best part about it is its versatility, unlike jogging which can be monotonous. Speed skating may be my core sport but if I decide to do something refreshing, I can go into other variants of skating such as free style skating, roller hockey, stunt skating and just street skating. As long as I have the basics there, picking up tricks on skates will not be too difficult. Other Hobbies: Reading about and trying out quality chocolates!!!! If you are a chocolate fan and would like to sharpen your skills at discerning the quality chocolates, or simply just want to understand chocolate, I’ll be the one person to talk to! I also like a good conversation with close friends and chilling at quiet lounges or cafes. When I can, I also like to collect new information from the documentaries like the Discovery and National Geographic channels. (Science and life are inseparable!!) A motto that you live by: Mind and Body integration |
